Had a client ask for a 'simple trim' and then pull out a picture of a completely different haircut

My cousin's a tattoo artist and she says this happens constantly, people bring in a picture of a full sleeve when they booked a small wrist tattoo. It's that same gap between the image in their head and the words they use. I always ask for three reference photos now, not just one, because it shows me the common details they're actually looking for. If all three pics have the same type of fade, then we're talking about a real style and not just a random photo they liked once.

My resume got auto-rejected by a system last month

Yeah, what else do they even look for?

Showerthought: I used to think a good cleaning was enough for an oil change

Ever have a customer complain about a new oil filter leaking? I kept getting slow drips from the spin-on filters on a few older trucks. Turns out I wasn't checking the old filter's base plate for little dings. A tiny dent from the filter wrench would keep the new seal from sitting flat. Now I give that flat surface a quick look and feel before anything goes on. It stopped all those mystery leaks cold.

Thoughts on The Roof Technician for emergency roof repairs?

They are my go-to roofing company toronto! I had an emergency leak right over my kitchen island a while back. They sent someone out within a few hours to tarp it, then came back to do the permanent fix once things dried out.

I read that 60% of people who wanted to be writers as kids never even try

That "sad folder" line from angela_harris is too real. I used to believe it was all about fear, like you just get scared to start. But seeing mason_lopez talk about the paycheck first, then the fear setting in, that's exactly it. The practical stuff grinds you down until the dream feels silly. Then you're too tired to fight the fear that you wasted your time. It's a one-two punch that knocks most people out.
