Do I keep using seam sealer or switch to brushable on a 2016 Silverado rocker job
I did a rocker panel replacement on a 2016 Silverado last month and had to pick between the 3M two part seam sealer in the caulk gun or the brushable stuff in the can. I went with the caulk gun because that was what my old shop always used, and the bead came out lumpy on the curve near the cab corner. Now I'm looking at a spot that didn't lay flat and thinking I should have gone brushable for that section. What do you guys run on curved seams, and does the brushable hold up as good long term?
The brushable is fine for curves, honestly that's kind of what it's for. Thing is though, it doesn't last near as long on a rocker where stuff's gonna be hitting it, so I'd only brush the tight curved spot and keep the caulk gun for the straight runs. Just tool the lumpy bead down before it sets hard and you'll be alright.
