inMy boss at the diner said my closing work was "technically fine but slow," so I timed myself for a week
Read a thing once about restaurant kitchens where they said the trick is to batch your trips instead of running back and forth for one thing at a time. The guy writing it called it "consolidating your steps" or something, but it's the same idea as your tray. Basically every time you leave the line you should be carrying something or grabbing multiple things on the way back. He said new cooks lose the most time on that and don't even notice because it feels busy. Your boss was kind of a jerk about how he said it but he wasn't wrong. Timing yourself is smart too because you can't fix what you can't see.

inThat $80 brake bleeder kit that almost caused a crash on I-95
Man that is scary, glad you caught it before something worse happened. Those vacuum bleeders are sneaky like that, the air sneaks in around the bleeder screw threads and it looks like it's pulling fluid fine when really it's just sucking air the whole time. I've had the same thing happen on a buddy's truck and we spent an hour chasing a soft pedal before figuring out the kit was the problem. The little rubber seal on the hose end never sits right on the caliper either, it just wobbles loose. Two person method is annoying but at least you know the fluid coming out is the real deal. Pedal going soft on the ramp is nightmare fuel, good thing you were smart enough to test it before getting on the highway.

inI thought password managers were for lazy people, then a client's Gmail got hit twice in 3 weeks
Two hits in three weeks is wild, like the dude didn't even get a chance to change anything before they came back for round two. Reused passwords are how most of these cracks happen too, one leak and suddenly every account with that same login is wide open. I put off password managers for years for the same dumb reason, thought it was for people too lazy to remember stuff. Finally set one up after seeing how fast a stolen login spreads and the auto fill alone was worth it. Kicking myself for not doing it sooner honestly.
