Those cheap Amazon air pumps for inflatables are a straight cash grab

Bought a similar one last year for camping. Same story - worked great for a few minutes then just died on me. Learned my lesson and got a handheld manual pump instead, never lets me down.

Spent 6 hours trying to debug a code issue that turned out to be a missing semicolon

Oh man, I gotta disagree with you on this one. Semicolons are actually kind of overrated, right? I mean, half the time when people blame a missing semicolon, it's really just their IDE formatting being weird or they're using a language that doesn't even need them in the first place. Python's been around for decades and nobody's crying over not having to type those little dots every five lines. Actually, you know what, I think the whole mystique around semicolons is just programmers' way of making themselves feel like they're solving some big mystery when really it's just a typo. But hey, if hunting for them makes you feel like a detective, more power to you I guess.

I chose my career over my best friend when she moved to Seattle and I stayed.

Holding back drafts just makes apologies feel too rehearsed.

Butter vs margarine in croissants is not even close after 6 tries

Margarine in croissants is basically a crime against pastry. Tried it once myself and ended up with what looked like flattened cardboard. Kerrygold is where it's at for that golden crispness. Margarine just doesn't have the same water content as butter, so the layers give up on you. Butter's the real MVP for getting that perfect crunch.

Shoutout to the guy at the lumber yard who told me my mortar mix looked wrong

Hang on, hold up. Breathing in the morning air to judge water ratio? That's wild. I mean, I get that old timers have instincts, but that's a whole other level. My uncle could tell if a storm was coming by how his knees felt, but your uncle sounds like some kind of masonry wizard. That is not a skill you see on any job site today, that's for sure.
