The hostel kitchen hack that saved me 40 bucks in Stockholm

I was in Stockholm last summer for 4 days and almost went broke just eating out. Everything was like $15 for a sad sandwich (you know, the tourist tax). Then I noticed this guy at my hostel using a rice cooker to make pasta, which blew my mind honestly. I checked and most hostels have a rice cooker sitting out but nobody uses it for anything except rice. I grabbed some cheap pasta and sauce from the Lidl down the street for like $3 total and made 2 dinners out of it. Has anyone else figured out other weird hostel appliance hacks like this?

I used my phone with a telescope adapter to shoot the moon last night and stacked 20 frames in Registax. Instead of a sharp image I got this weird ghosting effect around the edges. Did I use too many frames or is my alignment method just bad?

Been running the same cutterhead for three years on the same river bend. Last week the night shift guy asked why I bother with a slow swing speed. Said he runs his at full speed and lets the silt settle in the discharge pipe. I told him he's probably leaving half the material behind. He didn't believe me until I showed him his reject pile from the week before. Has anyone else run into operators who think fast is always better?
