I never got the hype around our neighborhood potluck until last month

I always figured our block's potluck was mostly for boring chats and okay food. But last month, I went because my neighbor kept asking, and it was actually fun. We had a guy who makes really good smoked ribs, and everyone was sharing stories about the area. I mean, idk, maybe it's me, but I connected with people I've barely chatted with since I moved in. It made me see how isolated I'd become, just going to work and back. Now I look forward to these gatherings. The sense of community is real, and it's helped me feel more settled here. Has anyone else had a simple event change their outlook?

Why does nobody talk about recycled paper for bullet journals?

I got a bullet journal using 100% recycled paper. The pages are thick and ink doesn't bleed through. This means less new paper is produced, saving trees and energy. It's a small change that makes my hobby more earth-friendly.

Remember hearing about a guy on the next street over who went all in on a huge rooftop system. He was so proud of his near zero electric bill, basically running his AC off the sun all summer. Then a huge oak tree in his neighbor's yard grew in just right and now shades half his panels by two in the afternoon. His payback timeline got wrecked through no fault of his own. Makes you wonder if the whole setup is more of a gamble than we admit, and not just because of changing rates.

Serious question, why do so many guys treat skipping the final signal check on an outlet as a time-saver?

During my training years, we manually verified each detail, but a supervisor once told me to SKIP a safety check to save hours. Still weighs on me.
