DAE get stuck in that zone where fitting up the pieces feels like it takes a century?

Yesterday's project had me aligning tubing for what seemed like forever, only for the weld to be over in a flash.

Oh man, tell me about it. I spent an hour yesterday tweaking the alignment on a simple lap joint, using every clamp I own. The whole time I'm nudging it half a millimeter, checking with a square, nudging it back. Then finally, when it's perfect, I zip the weld bead across in like ten seconds. It's almost insulting how much prep time vanishes into that one little spark. Makes you wonder if we're all just professional fitters who weld occasionally.

Welding's just a spark after all that fit-up (agree, @caleb_fisher44).

See that prep as building the foundation, not lost time. The weld is just the quick, final seal on all that careful work.

That "professional fitters" line from @xenab98 hit me. Maybe we should just bill by the clamp-hour and call the actual weld "admin time.
