Warning: My industrial sewing machine jammed right before a big deadline

I was finishing a custom leather jacket for a client in Austin, and the needle plate got bent during a thick seam. This happened two days ago, and I had to rush to a repair shop downtown. Has anyone else had a machine fail during a critical project, and what's your backup plan?

Yeah, a buddy of mine @wesley_jones missed a deadline once and lost a whole month's work.

My backup is a basic Singer from 2005. @angela_harris, a deadline is huge when your rent depends on it. Machine failures are the worst kind of surprise.
