My bike tube skirt project turned into a rubbery nightmare.

I thought using old bike tubes for a skirt would be good for the environment. But the tubes stuck to my hands and the fabric, leaving a huge mess. Anyone know how to handle weird recycled stuff without it going all wrong?

Why does using recycled stuff often create more problems than it solves?

Wyatt's question about recycled stuff creating more problems really hits home. I once tried to make a trivet from old wine corks and ended up with a sticky, moldy lump. Sometimes the green option is just putting things in the recycling bin and walking away.

Rubber melting in a car? That sounds crazy. Cars can get so hot in the summer, like over 150 degrees. I had a plastic toy warp once left on the dashboard. Maybe it was cheap rubber or not meant for heat. Your friend must have been really upset. It makes you wonder about using materials that can handle the weather.
