I finally gave that glue-on shoe system a real try after doubting it for years

Had a horse with a thin wall that couldn't hold nails, so I used the Vettec system as a last resort. It held strong for a full eight-week cycle and the hoof grew out much healthier. Has anyone else had good results with glue-ons on tough cases?

My buddy's draft horse kept pulling shoes, like every two weeks. His farrier used a glue on system as a test, maybe Equilox? That horse went a solid ten weeks without a single issue, and the sole finally had time to toughen up. It was a total game changer for them.

Glue ons can help but ten weeks sounds like a miracle for a shoe puller. I'd be curious what @michaeltorres's neighbor used for prep, because that's the real key.

My neighbor's old trail horse had the same problem, they tried some kind of epoxy filler with a plastic shoe. It looked weird but the horse went sound on it. What did you use to prep the hoof first?
