Trying to find parking near the waterfront on a weekend is impossible now

I used to just roll down to the marina area on a Saturday morning and find a spot no problem. But around last summer, I noticed it got brutal - I circled for 25 minutes near the Port of Everett lot. Now I either go at 7 AM or just give up and park like half a mile away. Has anyone else just stopped going down there on weekends because of the parking situation?

Read some article that said the city is adding like 200 more spaces down there but they won't be ready until next year sometime. That doesn't really help us now though. I just started going to the park and ride by the casino and walking the extra 15 minutes. Kind of annoying but beats circling like a shark.

Wait, didnt the city say those spots were supposed to be done this spring though? I could be mixing it up with something else, but I swear I heard an update from the planning board meeting last month. @nancyn69, you might want to double check the article because I think the timeline got moved up a bit from what you read. In my experience, those news pieces always get the dates jumbled up its kind of a mess. But yeah, that casino walk isn't too bad once you get used to it, at least you're not wasting gas.

Oh man, I heard from a friend that works at the port that they might push those new spaces back even further due to some permit issues. Typical.
