My town's license plate camera proposal has me thinking about freedom

At the town hall, they pushed for cameras to track all cars. It's for safety, but I'm concerned about losing privacy.

Look, it already happens with our phones every single day. Tracking cars could actually help find stolen vehicles faster and fix traffic jams. Most people trade some privacy for convenience without even thinking about it. This just feels like the next logical step, whether we like it or not.

Doesn't it feel like we're just handing over pieces of ourselves bit by bit? I get the safety argument, but it's a slippery slope... once that system is in place, what's next? The idea of a permanent record of everywhere my car goes just sits wrong with me, even if my phone does some of that already. It's the principle of the thing, you know?
