I don't get the hate for push-in connectors on residential jobs
Last month I wired a whole basement remodel with Wagos because the homeowner wanted it done fast. Three years ago I would have twisted and taped every joint, but after 400+ connections not a single one has failed on me yet. Has anyone actually had a Wago fail in the field or is it just old-timers being stubborn?

Old timers aren't being stubborn. They've seen lever nuts pop off when you push the wire back into a tight box. Had a buddy's whole ceiling fan drop because a Wago came loose. Twist and tape is still the only thing I trust for a real permanent connection.

Man I was in the exact same boat. I spent years thinking Wagos were just for lazy hacks who couldn't twist a proper joint. Then I got stuck rewiring an old house with like 30 junction boxes in a crawlspace and said screw it, bought a box of 12-port Wagos. It saved me a solid three hours and I haven't had a single call back in two years. The old timers can keep their tape and marrettes, but after seeing how clean and fast those lever nuts are, I'm not going back.
