My bakery idea died in city hall paperwork.

I see a lot of dreams get lost in confusing permit systems. For me, the endless hoops just made it not worth it anymore.

Those rules keep sketchy places out though, gotta protect customers lol. Sure it's annoying but the system works when done right.

But does it really work all the time? I mean, I've seen plenty of sketchy spots pass inspection just because they know how to play the game. My buddy got food poisoning from a place with an A rating last month. Idk, maybe the system is good in theory but the execution is pretty spotty.

Look at all the times inspections MISS obvious problems. They only show up once a year maybe, so kitchens can just clean up for that day. My cousin worked at a place that looked PERFECT on paper but was actually pretty gross behind the scenes. An A rating doesn't guarantee anything if people cut corners every single shift. The whole thing feels like security theater more than real protection. We get way too comfy because of some letter on the wall.
