Appreciation post: A blown tolerance on a Houston job site changed my view on laser levels
I was setting foundation points for a warehouse addition and my old laser's battery died mid-job, causing a 3/8 inch drift over 200 feet. I had to re-shoot everything with a transit, which added four hours. Anyone have a laser they trust for full-day outdoor work?

Honestly, that drift is a feature not a bug, it keeps you sharp. Victorh81's coffee break joke is funny, but a dead tool forcing a manual check saved your bacon from a bigger error later. Maybe the old ways with a transit are the real backup plan you always need?

My old truck's check engine light is like that. It forces a manual check, just like lewis.finley said.
