The week my entire feed turned into AI portraits
About two months back, it felt like overnight, every artist I follow just started posting these hyper-realistic AI portraits. It wasn't just a few, it was like 80% of my feed for a solid week. I remember one creator I really admire, who does amazing character design, posted a set of five portraits with the caption 'Generated in 30 seconds.' It kind of deflated me. The skill and time that used to go into a showcase piece felt... cheapened, I guess. I spent three days just scrolling, feeling weirdly disconnected from the community I usually love. It made me wonder what we're even showcasing anymore if the tool does all the heavy lifting. Has anyone else felt that shift, or am I just being overly nostalgic?

Yeah, I read an article that called it the "content apocalypse" where the feed just becomes this weird, samey sludge. Totally get that disconnected feeling.

Wait, they posted five portraits in half a minute? That's just depressing. It completely washes out the point of having a skill. No wonder you felt so disconnected.
