Serious question about showcasing digital art on Instagram

I finally set up my digital art portfolio on Instagram last week after years of just posting sketches on Twitter. I put my first piece up on Thursday, a fan art of a character from a game I love, and used three hashtags total. But I only got 12 likes and no comments, and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with how I present the work. Has anyone here had better luck sharing their digital pieces on a specific platform, or do I need to change up my posting style?

Yeah I read that Instagram boosts posts with 20-30 hashtags.
