inWatched a buddy's weld go from garbage to textbook in about 6 months
Did I accidentally become a film critic for bad welds instead of just getting good?

inOverheard a kid on the bus saying his dad's just a mechanic. Felt weirdly proud?
My neighbor calls himself a "grease monkey" and he makes way more than my cousin the accountant.

inMy uncle told me to always put a dry bay leaf in my flour bin to keep weevils out
Wait, are we really this scared of weevils? Seems like a lot of fuss over something you can just sift out.

inRant: The overhead garage door spring snapped while I was halfway out this morning
Oh man, that sucks! But wait, $285 for a spring replacement? That actually sounds pretty reasonable. I had mine snap a couple years ago and it was more like $350. Not trying to one-up you or anything, just saying you might have gotten off easy compared to what some places charge. The real trick is to check those springs once a year and spray them with silicone lube, not WD-40. That stuff can actually make the metal brittle over time.
