Six months of nightly walks and my resting heart rate is finally below 70
Started doing a 25 minute loop around the neighborhood park after dinner back in March, mostly to clear my head from work stress. My watch has been tracking this whole time and I just hit a 68 bpm resting rate this morning, which is the lowest I've seen since I was in my early 20s. Anyone else notice small daily routines quietly fixing stuff you weren't even trying to fix?

Is a watch reading really that accurate though, or are we just chasing numbers the app tells us to care about? I mean, I’ve seen my resting rate swing 10 points just from sleeping in on a Sunday. @betty_wells, you’re probably better off with the rice bag thing, at least that’s a real break from your brain. Walking helps clear the head, sure, but 68 versus 70 might just be your watch being generous with the battery.

Funny how that works out. My version of this is dumping my phone in the rice bag on accident and then not scrolling for a week. Sleep got better, weirdly. My resting heart rate is still in the 80s, but at least I'm not mad about it anymore. Probably should try the walking thing, but then I'd have to put on real pants.
