Am I the only one who checked a bag on Spirit after my cousin swore it would be fine, and it was NOT fine
My cousin keeps flying Spirit out of Fort Lauderdale and she keeps telling me the bag fees are no big deal if you just pay online ahead of time. So last Thursday I did exactly that, paid $42 for a carry on online like she promised, and then at the gate they made me check it anyway because the flight was full and charged me $65 more. I asked the gate agent why and she shrugged and said it happens when the overhead bins fill up, which felt like a scam I had no way to win. We landed in Atlanta two hours late and my bag came out on the last carousel with a ripped zipper. Has anyone actually won this fight with them or do I just eat the $107 and never listen to my cousin again?
