Serious question, did anyone else notice the huge jump in phishing emails after the big cloud outage?

For about a week after that major cloud provider went down, my work inbox was flooded. I went from maybe one sketchy email a day to getting five or six, all pretending to be from our IT team about 'account updates'. They looked way more real than the usual ones. It seems like the scammers used the real news event to make their fake alerts seem legit. Has anyone else seen a spike in targeted attacks after a big public tech problem?

I mean, it makes their fake password reset links seem way more urgent.

Ever notice how they ALWAYS send those emails at like 3 AM to freak you out?

Remember my buddy got one at 2 AM saying his bank account was locked. He was half asleep and almost clicked it before he saw the sender was "secure-bank-alerts@notarealwebsite.ru". Who falls for that? They really do bank on you being too tired to think straight.
