PSA: a coworker told me her 8 character password gets cracked by a home PC in under 2 hours
I looked it up after she brushed off our work training and a Hive Systems chart backs it up, an 8 character password falls in about an hour on a cheap gaming rig, so has anyone actually gotten a stubborn friend or family member to switch to a longer passphrase instead of just adding a 1 at the end?
Oh man, I'm the guy who used "password123" for like a decade, so I'm not exactly the poster child here. My trick that finally worked on my dad was telling him his bank password could be cracked faster than it takes to microwave a burrito. He switched to a passphrase the same day.
