Hit 800 credit score last week... didn't think it would feel this big
Idk why but 800 always seemed like this magical number I'd never reach. Been hovering around 760-780 for like 3 years. Finally checked Credit Karma on a whim and there it was. 802. Feels weirdly validating after all those years of making payments on time and keeping balances low. Did anyone else have a milestone that surprised them more than expected?

Hitting 800 really does feel like a big deal though. I remember when I finally cracked 780 after years of being stuck in the 740s for no obvious reason, it was like the system finally saw all those automatic payments and low credit card balances I'd been maintaining. It's funny how we chase these numbers, and when you get there it feels like a secret handshake into some invisible club. The boring choices really do add up, even if nobody sees them happening in real time.

Did your score just kinda 'catch up' eventually? Because that's what happened with me. I was hovering in the 760s for like two years just doing the same old thing, and then one day it jumped to 810 without any big changes on my end. It really is like the algorithm finally decided to give you credit for all those boring habits you've been sticking with quietly.

Did you actually change any habits or did the score just finally catch up with what you were already doing?

FICO scores have that secret sauce nobody really understands, so sometimes it's just the algorithm finally lining up with your history. The real surprise might be how an 800 feels like validation for all those boring money choices that nobody notices except the credit bureaus.
