inA friend pointed out my overwatering killed a whole tray of heirloom tomato seedlings
So, @jessica130, do you still check every single day?

inA farrier in Boise told me my hammer control looked like I was fighting the steel, not guiding it.
Remember when I tried to use a framing hammer for finish nails? My wrist still hurts from that week.

inWarning: I thought those new flexible rods were just a gimmick
That bit about the offset flue on the old house is exactly it. I had a similar stubborn moment with a new inspection camera my partner bought. I called it a toy for weeks until we found a crack in a drain line that was hidden behind a joist. My old straight snake camera would have missed it completely. Sometimes the new tool really is made for the one weird job that makes your whole week.

inUpdate: My contractor friend in Charlotte says everyone over-waters new sod for the first week, but the nursery sheet clearly says to keep it damp, not soaked.
Totally. I read this article once about how over-parenting kids is basically the same thing. They called it helicopter parenting, but it's just drowning them in attention and rules instead of letting them breathe and figure stuff out. Same exact pattern, ignoring the simple need for space because we think more help is always better. Honestly it made me look at my own habits differently. We just get nervous and overdo it.

inA regular named Mike in my chair last month told me my neckline work was too soft for his face shape
Yeah that "anchor for the whole face" idea is spot on. My barber explained it the same way and finally fixed my neckline. It used to look disconnected, but now the whole haircut just fits my head shape better.
