Wouldn't that be just my luck, radio dies right when I'm trying to tell someone they're about to back into a pallet of bottled water lmao. I keep a spare battery in my lunchbox too now, learned that lesson the hard way last winter when mine crapped out and I had to do interpretive dance to get a coworker to stop backing up. The magnetic beacons are a solid idea though, might have to snag a set cause hand signals are useless when everyone's got earbuds in.

Hand signals work great until someone's standing behind a forklift you're backing up. Radios are nice but battery dying mid shift is its own special kind of nightmare.

Got a set of those magnetic flashing beacon things that stick to the roof of the forklift. Total game changer. People actually look up from their phones when that thing is blinking and beeping. Also started keeping a dedicated charged battery pack in my lunchbox so if the radio craps out I just swap it mid shift. That and a loud whistle clipped to my vest for emergencies. Saved my butt plenty of times when someone thought they could squeeze past a blind corner.
