Serious question, ever had a color correction go completely sideways on a client?

I was in my booth at Shear Magic in Phoenix, trying to fix a box dye disaster that turned brassy orange, and my usual toner just grabbed in patches. Ended up mixing a demi with a 5N and a dash of violet, applied it section by section for 15 minutes, and it actually leveled out. What's your go-to fix when a toner fails mid-service?

Try a clear protein filler first.

Wait, is that the stuff you mix into dye? I tried that once and my hair felt like straw for a week... guess I used way too much. Still figuring out the whole protein balance thing, clearly.

Honestly thought those were just a gimmick for way too long. Grabbed one on a whim last month and it made my hair feel way stronger, not just coated. The ends finally stopped snapping off every time I brushed it.
