Overheard a homeowner talking about my broom finish like it was fine art

Last Tuesday I was finishing a small patio in Arlington, and the homeowner was on the phone with a friend. She said I was "sculpting the surface like a Renaissance painter" which made me laugh so hard I almost messed up a joint. I mean, I was just using a push broom and some elbow grease, not a chisel and marble. Has anyone else had a client or passerby say something totally over the top about your work?

Is that where we're at now where even the most basic everyday stuff gets called art just so people feel special?

My friend Sarah said her coffee cup was art (piperbailey, you get it). Eye roll.
