I just counted my long boxes and hit a number that made me stop

I have 42 long boxes of comics in my garage. I started collecting when I was 12, just grabbing random issues from the spinner rack. I never added it up before, but seeing that number made me realize how much space and money this hobby really takes. Does anyone else have a collection size that surprised them?

Yikes, that's a wake-up call. My DVD collection makes me feel the same way.

Remember when we all had those big binders full of discs. Now they just sit there, a whole shelf of plastic cases. Makes you wonder what we're holding onto today that will feel just as silly in ten years. Physical media had its charm but man, it really was a lot of clutter.

Forty two long boxes? That's not a collection, that's a whole warehouse. I can't even picture how much space that takes up in a garage (like, can you still park a car in there?). I get having a few boxes, but that number is just wild to me. It really shows how something you start as a kid can just grow and grow without you even noticing.
