I finally fixed a leaky bathroom faucet but it took 4 hours not the 30 minutes every video promised
Had a drip in my guest bathroom that was driving me crazy. Watched a few YouTube tutorials and they all made it look like a simple swap of a cartridge. Thirty minutes max, they said. Well I got the old cartridge out after about 45 minutes of wrestling with it. Then the new one didn't fit because the brand had been changed slightly. Ran to Home Depot twice because the o-rings were different sizes. Then I snapped the retaining clip and had to rig something with a wire. By the time I was done I had spent probably 4 hours on what should have been a simple job. Anyone else find that those quick tutorial videos never account for the random problems that pop up?

Brand that caused all the trouble" - more like brand that caused all the cuss words, am I right? Mine was some cheap Moen knockoff that I'm 90% sure was made from recycled soda cans and spite. The cartridge was stuck so bad I had to use a screwdriver and a hammer like I was trying to knock a greased pig loose. By the time I found the right parts online, the original 30 minute video felt like a cruel joke from some YouTube comedian who's never actually touched a faucet in their life.
