My barista in Denver called my pour-over technique 'aggressive' and told me to slow down.

I was pouring way too fast, like a 30-second total brew. Switched to a 45-second pulse method and the flavor got way smoother. Anyone else get a tip that totally flipped their routine?

Pouring too fast can make it bitter. Slowing down lets the water actually extract the coffee. Good fix.

My old roommate used a timer for his pour overs, always aiming for 3 minutes total. He swore that last 30 seconds of a slow pour made all the difference. It turned his coffee from sharp to actually sweet. I started doing it and he was totally right.

Ever try that with a cheaper, pre-ground coffee?
