Appreciation post: I was grinding my beans for a French press like espresso for years before a barista in Portland asked if I liked chewing my coffee.

That one question from a stranger at a coffee cart last month made me realize my whole coarse grind concept was wrong, so what's the biggest 'aha' moment you've had about your own coffee routine?

Grinding fine for a French press sounds wild though, how bad was it really? My biggest coffee shock was just learning you're supposed to clean the machine more than once a year lmao.

Imagine grinding your coffee into dust for a French press, that's basically making mud soup. My biggest shock was realizing pre-ground coffee loses its flavor crazy fast, like within a week. Felt like I'd been drinking sad brown water for years.
