I used to think my phone was just a tool until a talk with my kid
My 8 year old asked me why I look at my screen more than her face during dinner. That hit hard. I realized I was checking work emails and sports scores, missing real moments. I started leaving my phone in another room from 6 to 8 PM each night. The first week was tough, but now we talk about her day instead. Has anyone else set a specific phone-free time that actually stuck?

Ever hear about my buddy who had to charge his phone in the car during family movie night? He said it was the only way he'd stop checking it.

Watched a friend hide his phone in the freezer once to focus on a project. He forgot about it for two days.

Yeah that freezer thing is wild but it makes sense. We're all doing these weird little tricks now just to get our brains to work right. Like what @the_alice said about the car charger, it's the same idea. We have to build these little traps for ourselves because the phone is just too good at pulling us in. It's like we're all living with a super smart piece of tech that's also a bit of a bully.
