Just realized I was wrong about needing a 'perfect' resume to get a job... my messy, project-focused one got me three interviews last month.

Three interviews doesn't mean you got the job. A sloppy resume just makes you look lazy.

Guess Paige never saw a resume that actually got someone talking. The messy one with real problems sounds way more interesting than another boring list of duties. Some people just don't get that being perfect on paper is pretty boring.

My buddy Mark had a resume that was just a list of his failed Kickstarters. Like, five of them, with what went wrong. He said it started more real talks in interviews than his old boring one ever did. They wanted to hear about the solar phone charger that melted. He got a job making outdoor gear.

Honestly, I've seen some resumes that look like a work of art but the person can't actually do the job. My cousin had this super clean, professional one page resume, but he kept getting passed over. He finally put down the real messy projects he actually worked on, the kind with problems he fixed, and got hired fast. It showed what he could do, not just what he was supposed to look like.
