Shoutout to the person who said I'd never hit 1000 subscribers on YouTube

I started a channel reviewing budget cooking gear back in March. Some dude in the comments said I'd be lucky to get 50 subs in a year. Well I just crossed 1000 last night and it feels pretty good. He was wrong but honestly that comment kinda pushed me to keep going. Anyone else get motivated by someone doubting them like that?

Never even thought of that as a niche" - yeah because it's a tiny niche that probably already has 20 established channels doing the same thing. Budget cooking gear is a race to the bottom, most people just buy the cheapest thing at Walmart and call it a day. Reaching 1000 subs in 6 months isn't that impressive when you consider how many people are sitting at home bored with nothing better to do. Plenty of channels blow up fast based on luck and timing, not because the content is actually good. That guy in the comments might have been right about the long haul.

Wait wait wait... you started a review channel for budget cooking gear? That's actually genius, I never even thought of that as a niche. Good for you shutting that guy up though... nothing better than proving someone wrong like that.

“Budget cooking gear is a race to the bottom” honestly describes my entire life, not just my channel. Guess I’ll keep racing to the bottom with my 1000 subs and a spatula that cost $4.
