Showerthought: I never realized how much signal loss happens just from splitting cable too many times inside a house.

I was reading through an old training manual from 2019 and saw a chart that said every split adds about 3.5 dB of loss, which explained why the third floor of that split level I did last week gets nothing but snow, has anyone else run into this on jobs with more than two TVs?

My buddy ran cable for his basement and said the split loss killed the signal on his third TV.

Wait, so is my cheap three-way splitter the reason I'm only getting static on my bedroom TV during thunderstorms? I guess my setup's a little too "split" for its own good.
