That minimalist planner advice almost wrecked my entire year
My friend Jenna told me to ditch all my trackers and just use a simple weekly log, so I tried it for January. By February 5th I had missed three deadlines and forgot my mom's birthday completely because I had no habit tracker or future log to catch those things. Anyone else have someone give them "bullet journal rules" that ended up being terrible advice?

The whole "just use a simple weekly log" advice never accounted for people like me who need to see the big picture at a glance. My habit tracker catches stuff I'd totally forget, like water intake or taking vitamins. Without that visual chain of check marks, I lose track of what day it even is. Some of us need those extra reminders to keep the wheels on the bus.

My habit tracker was the only thing that kept me going when I was trying to quit coffee cold turkey. The little check marks every day made it feel like a game instead of a chore. That visual proof of progress is just too good to give up, you know?
