I finally started a travel log in my bullet journal for Asia.

What's the best way to note down food markets and temples?

In your bullet journal, I heard quick sketches for markets and temples work great!

Oh for sure, it's a total game changer. I do tiny icons instead of full sketches to save time, like a little basket for market stuff and a bell for temple visits. It makes flipping back through old pages way easier to understand at a glance. Like what @victor_lee said, your brain just locks onto the picture. I even do a simple bowl for tracking meals, and it sticks way better than just writing "lunch".

Yeah totally, it's wild how a little doodle works better than a written list sometimes. I've been doing quick sketches for my grocery runs, like drawing an apple next to "fruit" or a milk carton. It makes the whole list stick in my brain way better. I even tried it for planning a weekend trip, just rough shapes for a mountain and a tent. It feels less like a chore and more like your brain actually grabbing onto the idea.

Mixing sketches with symbols for mood changed my journaling. Like a sun for a busy market day or a candle for temple calm. It adds a layer words can't catch.
