Heard a site supervisor say something sketchy about mortar mixing ratios
I overheard a guy on a commercial job yesterday telling his crew to just eyeball the portland to sand ratio instead of measuring. That's a fast track to weak joints and liability down the road. Has anyone else run into supervisors cutting corners like this?

And it's not just on job sites either. I see this same lazy attitude everywhere now. People rushing through things, skipping the basic steps, and acting like close enough is good enough. Whether it's a mechanic not torquing bolts right or a cook just eyeballing ingredients instead of measuring, it all comes from the same place. They think they're saving time but they're really just trading five minutes now for a huge mess later. That mortar might hold up for a year or two but when it starts crumbling, nobody's gonna remember who "eyeballed" it. The owner, the insurance company, the lawyers, they're all gonna point right back at that supervisor.
