I finally got my hands on a variegated Monstera cutting after waiting months.

The seller in Tampa shipped it wrapped in damp moss, but a cold snap delayed the package for three days. When it arrived, the single leaf was completely black and mushy from the cold. Has anyone had success reviving a cutting that arrived in such rough shape?

Honestly that cutting sounds like a total loss. Black and mushy means the cells are dead, it's not coming back from that. Variegated monsteras are especially fragile and cold damage is pretty much a death sentence. Maybe it's just me but I'd be asking for a refund instead of trying to revive it.

My friend got a Thai con cutting that looked like that. She tried everything for months but it just rotted more. Seller ghosted her after the first week.

Wait, the seller just ghosted after a week? That's so shady. They had to know it was already a goner when they shipped it. My friend got a cutting that looked okay at first but then the node turned to mush, and the seller at least answered her messages while it died. Just disappearing is next level.
