Honestly, I was the worst about pushing my own book picks for years
Ngl, it hit me last month when my friend in the club said, 'William, we're not here to read your syllabus.' Anyone else get too stuck on their own taste?

Man, that's a whole mood. I used to run a movie night and basically just showed my own top ten list on repeat. It took my cousin asking if we could watch something, and I quote, "not from the Criterion Collection" for me to get it. You get so deep into your own lane you forget other people have different roads. It's way more fun now that we take turns picking.

It's actually @luna_wright's cousin who called out the Criterion thing, not her.

People get so worked up about movie picks. It's just a movie night, not a peace treaty. @luna_wright, your cousin had a point but maybe they could have just brought their own snacks and been quiet. Taking turns is fine, but sometimes the person with the good taste should just keep picking.
