Hit 50 books in my book club this year and it wasn't even intentional

I joined a weekly book club last January just to get out of the house, but now I've read 50 books and I'm honestly shocked because I used to read maybe 5 a year. Has anyone else's reading count just exploded after joining a club or is my group just unusually fast paced?

Used to think book clubs were just social hours but yours clearly kicked my reading into high gear too.

tarabell hit it spot on - my book club turned me from a "reading is a chore" person into someone who picks up novels while waiting for my coffee to brew. I blame peer pressure and the snacks honestly.
