Shoutout to the guy at the Tacoma hammer-in who said to try a 2.5 pound rounding hammer for bladesmithing. I thought it was a gimmick, but after forging a chef's knife with one last weekend, the control is unreal.

Unreal control" lol come on man, a hammer's a hammer. My regular 3-pounder does the same job, just gotta get used to it. Feels like buying into the hype to me.

Agree with josephadams honestly. People act like it's brain surgery, but it's just hitting stuff.

Nah, @josephadams, that's like saying a beater car is the same as a new truck. Sure, they both drive, but the right tool changes the whole feel of the work. You're just used to fighting your gear.

Try both and you'll feel the difference, no joke.
