Can we talk about the 60% of job postings that ghost you after a phone screen?
I kept track for 3 months on a spreadsheet, 23 applications, 7 phone screens, and 4 second interviews. Then I counted how many ever sent a rejection email, it was 3 out of 23. So the other 20 just vanished like I never existed. Some say it's just how hiring works and you should move on, but others say it's pure disrespect and companies owe you a quick no. I'm leaning toward the second, but has anyone else actually gotten a reply when they pushed back and asked for closure?

That spreadsheet data is more useful than anything HR has.

Companies ghost because it's easier, not because they're evil, and a rejection email changes nothing about your outcome. Pushing back for closure is wasted energy when the real answer is just that they found someone else and moved on.
