My cousin said something about filler arcs that actually made sense
I was talking to my cousin over the weekend about the show One Piece. He's been watching it for years and I just started. I was complaining about how some parts feel slow, like the show is just killing time. He told me, 'Those filler arcs aren't just dead space. They're like a break for your brain between the big story beats. You need them to really feel the impact of the main plot.' I always skipped filler before, but his point hit different. It made me think about pacing in a new way. Maybe binging a show isn't just about cramming the main story as fast as you can. Has anyone else changed their mind about skipping filler episodes after watching a show a certain way?

Ever see someone totally miss the point of a show? My friend powered through Naruto skipping all filler, then said the final fights felt weirdly flat. He didn't have those quiet moments with the characters just being friends, so the big stakes didn't land. Now he watches everything in order, says it just feels more complete.

Yeah filler gives you breathing room. Skipping it makes the show feel rushed. Like eating a meal too fast.

My friend did that with One Piece. He skipped the Long Ring Long Land arc and missed the whole Davy Back Fight setup. Later he was confused why certain rivalries had extra weight. Now he never skips a single episode.
