Stop faking enjoyment at work - I saw the burnout coming for my friend Jen

My friend Jen in accounting kept saying she loved her job but she was skipping lunch and crying in the bathroom every Wednesday. I noticed she stopped talking about her weekend plans around November last year. Finally snapped last month and quit without anything lined up. Anybody else have a coworker who was clearly faking it and nobody said anything?

Saw the same thing with my buddy Mark in IT he'd joke about loving spreadsheets but his eyes were dead for months.

Dead eyes for months? That's terrifying. @victor779 did he ever say anything weird before he snapped, or did he just get that look one day and never come back? I keep thinking about those stories where people say someone's smile doesn't quite reach their eyes... gives me the creeps.
