Read something about smiling that hit different this week

I found a study from some university that said people who fake smile a lot at work can feel more tired and sad later. I read it in a news article on my phone. It made me think about how I act cheerful for clients even when I'm stressed about a job. That fake energy really does drain you by the end of the day. Anyone else notice they feel more down after putting on a happy face all afternoon?

So what happens when you just can't fake it anymore?

That study makes a lot of sense. It's like emotional labor. You have to act happy for a rude customer, then you're just empty. What happens to people in jobs where that's the whole day, like servers or call centers? Do they just get used to being drained, or does it actually change them?
