That one customer told me my fades were too top-heavy and it stung but she was right
Had a lady come in about 6 weeks ago, super specific about her blended fade. I thought I was doing fine but she pointed out I was leaving too much bulk right above the temple area. I was rushing the blend, you know? So I started spending an extra 2-3 minutes on that middle section with my half guards and it made a huge difference. Anyone else had a client call you out like that and it actually improved your work?

Doesn't it seem like the best lessons come from people willing to tell you you're wrong?

Man, totally... my old broker would tear apart my offers and it made me way better at the job.

Did she give you any advice on how she wanted it fixed or did you figure out the half guard trick on your own? I've had a few barbers tell me that staying in that temple area with the 1.5 guard open for an extra pass really helps smooth out that transition, since people naturally have uneven growth patterns there. It's good that you took her feedback to heart instead of getting defensive, most customers just walk away and never come back if they're unhappy.
