Found a quick fix for a tough neckline on a client with a birthmark

Had a regular come in with a dark, raised birthmark right where his neckline should be. I was worried about nicking it with my clippers. Instead of trying to go around it, I put a tiny bit of shave gel on the mark, then used a straight razor with a light touch to clear the hair on top. It gave a clean line without any cuts. Anyone else have a trick for tricky skin spots?

Smart move with the gel. I've used a similar trick with a little bit of conditioner on moles. It lets the blade glide right over without catching the skin. Gotta be super light with the pressure though.

Yeah that conditioner trick is solid. I use a little shaving cream on mine and go real slow.
