Took me 5 years to realize my raised beds were facing the wrong direction
I built my vegetable beds along the fence line in my Denver yard, thinking south-facing was always best. Then my neighbor pointed out that my taller crops were shading the shorter ones by noon every day. Has anyone else dealt with figuring out bed orientation the hard way?

Did you factor in how the sun angles change throughout the growing season? In Denver your summer sun is high overhead but by September it's way lower, so that same fence could be casting a totally different shadow pattern. I mix tall crops like corn on the north side and lower stuff to the south, kind of a stair step setup. Works better than fighting the sun all season.

The stair step idea makes sense... I just went with "point them at the sun and hope for the best" which worked about as well as you'd expect.
