Still fuming about that backyard contractor from last spring

Had a guy named Dave come out in March to quote a paver patio in my backyard in Austin. He walked around for 10 minutes, talked about his truck mostly, and then told me I needed $4,200 worth of grading work before he could even start. Found out later from a neighbor that Dave never even called back a single person he quoted. Has anyone else dealt with a contractor who just wastes your time like that?

Man, that Dave guy sounds like a real piece of work. Getting ghosted by a contractor who already wasted your time and money on a quote feels like getting scammed twice. Did he even give you a written estimate or just scribble some numbers on the back of a napkin?

Was the quote itemized or was it just a flat number with no breakdown?

Nah, flat quotes can actually save you from getting nickel and dimed later.
